Krebiozen, Mr. Wright, and the Placebo Effect.

In looking for this story online, I was amazed that no one had really done the story justice. The original story, told by the attending doctor who was doing a Krebiozen study (and crossing all sorts of ethical boundaries that would get his license taken away today) is much better.

The report is found in Spontaneous Remission: An Annotated Bibliography, required reading for any medical skeptic. It’s chock-full of people reversing the irreversible, all documented by medical doctors with various levels of disbelief. While I have no doubt that the people involved did the things documented, I am at a loss on how to replicate the benefits they received. Perhaps we all need to spend a little more time thinking about what is possible. Someday we may all be able to harness our inner Mr. Wright.
