Vitamins and Supplements: Vital or Superfluous?

The shorthand for those who don’t want to watch the whole thing is that food is better.  He makes that point early on, but then goes on to detail all the vitamins he takes himself.  Some of them I understood, but he takes things like mushrooms, which last time I looked were readily available (at least shiitake).  The idea that 500 mg of a mushroom is even equal to one mushroom is hard to swallow.  I really push spices, which if you like you can take grams at a single meal.  If you train your body to love spices, chances are you’re doing far more than if you swallow them in capsules.
