Olive Oil Does Not Equal The Mediterranean Diet

I initially felt betrayed by this tirade against our good friend olive oil, but our dear dietitian has an extremely valid point.  You can’t just add olive oil to a standard American Diet (which is SAD in every way) and expect to be healthy.  My favorite line is (and perhaps I paraphrase): 

“If you eat fast food twice a week your risk for heart disease goes up dramatically.” 

It’s just so opposite what everyone wants to you to buy literally and figuratively.  We desperately need to take the food industry by the hair and lead it down the road to wellness.  Instead we’re exempting restaurants from any culpability for their products.  Pity the tobacco industry didn’t think of that ploy.
